London Open Gardens 6&7 June 2026

London Open Gardens, is our annual event where normally closed or hidden green spaces open their gates. The fundraising event showcases rooftop gems, community spaces and historic walled enclosures.

London Parks & Gardens’ Inventory provides public access to a wealth of information on over 2,500 parks, gardens, squares, churchyards, cemeteries and other sites of historic interest across the whole of London.

Clapham Common

Clapham Common is partly in Lambeth, partly in Wandsworth and was formerly two commons belonging to the neighbouring manors. Its importance for recreation was early acknowledged and it was subject to landscape improvement from 1722 onwards.

Barking Abbey

This is the site of Barking Abbey, which had been founded in 666 AD, restored by King Edgar in 970 AD, and eventually dissolved in 1539 by which time it was the greatest Benedictine nunnery in the country.

All Saints Church, Fulham

Fulham Parish Church dates from early times, dedicated to All Saints from at least the C15th; the current church was built in 1880/1 replacing the C15th church, whose tower remains, but an earlier church is known to have existed.
