Description
Connaught Recreation Ground is a small park with rose beds and playgrounds in the north, fronted by railings onto Uxbridge Road. It was laid out by the mid-1930s as housing was increasingly developed here, prior to which it is shown on OS maps as a field and there were nurseries in the area into the C20th. A drinking fountain and path layout are shown in 1935 with a park lodge and lavotories in place by 1965, and allotment gardens to the south-east of the park.

Hayes Park is the landscaped park of a Victorian mansion, which was replaced by offices and a research centre for Heinz Corporation post-1961. There are a good number of C19th and possibly earlier oaks in the grounds, now augmented by Leylandia clumps. Around the lawn is a brick ha-ha and to the north and east is woodland of Hayes Shrub. Heinz has since sold and then re-leased the site from the subsequent owner.
The Grove Nature Reserve was once the garden of The Grove, a large house on the edge of Hillingdon Village. Its central feature is a sequence of ponds, two small and one large, which run through the reserve. The site was reduced in size in the 1980s when housing development encroached to the north. Woodland contains oak, ash and sycamore with some pine and larch as remnants of the garden planting. It is managed by the London Wildlife Trust.
Hillingdon was a large medieval parish with the church of St John the Baptist at the centre of the village. There are two areas of the churchyard divided by a path, that around the church having many fine tombs and a number of good trees, including cedar, with an avenue of lime along one path. In the other area of the burial ground is the war memorial.
